20 second Sound Recorder DIY Kit

This is a voice recorder and player device which can be used to record a sound for 20 seconds and play it later as many times as you want. Interesting, right?

This is a creative hobby kit if you are an audio electronic hobbyist who mostly likes to make audio related gadgets. This device has a memory which can store the recording even for several years. The device can store only 1 recording which is 8 to 20 seconds long. You can erase and do a new recording as many times as you want.

Schematic

Instructions:

Pass Through Mode: turn ON the S1 switch. Then speak to the mic. You will hear your voice from the speaker.

Record Mode: turn OFF S1. Then, press and hold S4 button (record button). You will see the LED turning ON. This indicates that it is recording the sounds from the mic. Release the record button to stop recording.

Play mode: Press and hold the S2 button (play button). The recorded audio will be played and stopped when you release the S2 button. If you turn on S5 (loop switch), the device will continue to repeatedly play the recorded audio even if you release the S2 button. Alternatively, you can press the S3 button to play the complete recorded audio once.

You can change the value of R2 resistor from 100k to 200k to change the recording duration from 10 seconds to 20 seconds. Quality of recorded audio reduces when you increase the recording time.
